Pitchfork Fest… No Conflicts Here, Folks

I know I keep banging away at Pitchfork, and I realize it is a bit flea on the back of a rhino, and they have their uses though none seem to have anything to do with writing about music.
Maybe it is jealousy.
I think my writers are so much better than theirs and it frustrates me I can’t build an audience to the size I would like.
And part of it is my dislike for the writing style. It is all the same overwritten bullshit.
But also, I don’t think popular music magazones/websites should be so deeply in bed with the musicians they are reviewing.
If pitchfork are into presenting music festivals, surely they are in close contact with the bands on a business level and therefore have a vested interest in whether they succeed or not.
I was in the process of promoting concerts through rock nyc myself and stopped midway because I was worried about my ability to remain neutral about the musicians.
Truly no one is, or should be, neutral, but if they are not be be neutral than equally so? The lack of neutrality should be based UPON A HISTORY OF MUSIC.
Anyway, pitchfork was over the weekend.
