Pink Floyd has waged a war against EMI for royalties.
Seems they’re not really happy with the unbundled purchase or individual track buying from their albums.
Robert Howe, the attorney representing the band, says Pink Floyd’s contract with EMI prohibits the label from selling tracks “otherwise than in the original configuration of the Pink Floyd albums.” However, EMI says that prohibition only applies to physical albums and not to individual tracks sold through online stores such as iTunes or Amazon MP3.”
I would think this would be a long costly drawn out process. Although there isn’t much detail on why they’re not happy anyone will buy their stuff at this point, I’m sure they have artistic reasons. Right?
