Pick Concerts, Week Of January 30th, 2012

"Lego Land" isn't even available in the States yet. What's that about? What are they waiting for? How big is Sheeran gonna be in the States, our young Magpie rates him second only to Conor. Me, I love him as well and I will be at a sold out Mercury Lounge on Tuesday totsee the rappiing singer songwriter in the sorta sized room we will never see him in again.

Monday – Harper Blynn – The Living Room – In an alternative universe, these brilliant song crafting children of Simon and garfunkel would be huge, but now isn't the time for finely crafted pop rock songs. Which is lucky for you because you get to see Harper Blynn at the Living Room not the Beacon, which is where they belong.

Tuesday – Smith Westerns – Loved the first album, less keen on the second album, but loved the glammy alt boys both times I saw em on stage.

Wednesday – Tool – .Hard rockers get steadily more progressive.

Thursday – The Yardbirds/Vanilla Fudge – 60s retro blues/prog blues respectively.

Friday – Skrillex – Roseland – Screw Skrillex, A-Trak is openning.

Saturday – Ceremony – Le Poisson Rouge – Pluss Pissed Jeans!!!

Sunday – OK, if you are doing anything but watching the Patriots – Giants superbowl gig, you are whacky. Just take the night off, crank up the Queen, and watch the big game.
