Pia Toscano: Some (Very Late) Thoughts On The Eliminated American Idol

I am completely disinterested in American Idol. I used to date a girl who forced me to watch season #2 and #3 but we broke up and while I enjoyed watching those two seasons because of her pleasure on it, I didn't think too much of it myself.

For one thing I didn't find Cowell's snottiness funny, he should take lessons from Ricky Gervais.

When she left so did I.

Which doesn't mean I haven't been hounded by AI fans about the terrific current season and Pia herself. Odds on to be win it.

She was elimated last week and signed by Jimmy Iovine to a contract with Interscope, though rumor has it that the plans to rush release an album have been scuttled by AI, who had her spend a day back in Queens before returning to L.A. for the rest of the season.

A quickie album isn't such a great idea any way. They are gonna have to think this one through. A siong, maybe an EP, is a much better concept. And lowering the rate to, say $1.99 for three songs is as even better idea.

Whatever Interscope does, I must disagree with the fans. She is easy to look at, and a pretty singer, but not much more, and I don't know how you can sustain a career like that.

Though on the other hand, you ain't gonna make many friends cover Chrissie Hynde, and all I've heard is this one song, "I Stand By You"…
