Peter Wentz Puts His Black Cards On The Table by Mary Magpie And Iman Lababedi

Mary Sez:
Peter Wentz’s new band Black Cards revealed their first song on their website and I must say, that even though it’s a girl singer, I like it. I don’t know how or why this happened, but I truly do like the song. “Club Called Heaven” is wonderfully composed, with clever hooks that really got me very interested to hear more.

It’s like how I like one of Charlotte Sometimes’ songs, and I guess that’s the case here. I thought I wouldn’t like the song, but it’s definitely not bad. I’m super excited for the album and to see how Wentz is doing in his new band. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on them.

Iman sez:
Wentz finds himself in an excellent position: with his own record label he can release whatever he likes (within reason, he is distributed by a company half owned by Bronfman’s boys) and since his taste is wide it leads him into all kinds of by-ways.
I was agnostic on Fall Out Boy so the fall out of their break up left me shrugging but if Wentz can’t really write songs this is a smart move indeed.
