The Peter Pan Dreams- By Mary Magpie

Many say there is a peak age for a rockstar. For today’s boy bands and alternative stars, it seems to be middle twenties. I couldn’t see The Summer Set or Mayday Parade old, never ever. But look at Green Day, they’ve been around forever. And what about the legends? Metallica? The Who?

But you have to ask the question: Would you want to go see your idol wrinkly, not as good as they used to be? Why would you ruin a perfect image of the musician you look up to? I’d be disappointed, sad, and my view of them would change drastically.

Yet, oddly enough, I can’t imagine one of my favourite bands breaking up and not getting older. I don’t want Mayday Parade to stop playing music, but I wouldn’t be able to stand them if they were old and trying to make a comeback.

I say for the current scene, keep them young. Let the legends live on as long as people want to tolerate them, or as long as they’re still cute and have good hair.
