Seems an anti-child abuse organization called childabusewatch.net is lobbying heavily at the NFL to prevent The Who from performing at half time at the Super Bowl. They are citing Pete Townsend’s arrest on child pornography charges back in 2003 and his former status as a registered sex offender.
“I’m a fan of the band, I grew up with The Who. Pete Townshend is the only issue, and the issue is that he’s a former registered sex offender,” ChildAbuseWatch.net founder and CEO Evin Daly told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “The issue is, it sends the wrong message to American families.”
You have gotta be kidding me. First off, he was cleared of all charges and secondly, his name is not even on the sex offenders anymore list. Cmon Pete, get angry and open your set at halftime with “Cousin Kevin” , just to piss ‘em off.
