Paris Hilton Petition: STOP THE INANITY, DON’T SIGN

untitled

The rate of ridiculousness is reaching epidemic levels, there is simply nobody left to root for, and no reason left to root for them, especially when you stop to think about how people deal with what they disapprove of. When did everybody begin disapproving of everything, whether or not it is any of their business? Whether or not it matters in the slightest? Whether or not it has anything to do with them whatsoever? Why would a guy who has never been to the UK Glastonbury Festival choose to start a petition requesting Kanye West be banned from playing. What? Eh? Look, I’m a fan of West, a big fan, but that has nothing to do with it. Why cause a stink about, well, to be honest, about nothing.

Now, I am not a fan of Paris Hilton. DJing is where the rich and famous go when they have no talent but want to be musicians. But , some guy started a petition requesting she be banned from playing at the Wisconsin Summerfest and it is so mean and petty. Why would he do that?

Remove Paris Hilton from the Lineup’, already has nearly 5,000 signatures. “This is a middle finger to anyone who paid to go this festival,” it reads. “You claim to be one of the premier festivals in America and then you go ahead and hire someone like Paris Hilton. She is a disgrace to dance music and is a perfect example of what spoiled celebrities do when they’re bored.”

“She has no right to be paid good money to stand up there and clap her hands on a stage,” it continues. “That money could be used to hire credible djs that actually work hard on their craft. If Paris has any respect for dance music she would step down as she’s clearly not worthy.” Thomas Neill, the man behind the petition, goes on to write that allowing Hilton to perform at the festival is supporting a “false, non credible, and quite frankly overall terrible ‘musician’/’DJ’” and that it “diminishes dance music as nothing more than a cheap show.”

You think this is pretty damn stupid? When it did become cooler to be a hard on, not everything is everybody’s business, some stuff is nobodies business at all. Some stuff doesn’t matter in the slightest and the making of petitions seems like puerile petty mindedness for one good reason: it is so.
