Yes, it  may still be a question as to who is winning the battle (which is ongoing)  but as for who has won the war? Streaming music please come on down! The streaming of music would’ve won any way due to price and price is good, price counts, but simply not having to save music on your hard drive makes life so much  easier, between Spotify and Apple Play I bet I don’t buy even an album a month any more. Why would I?

or you.

As we pass the half way point of 2015, here comes the latest news: over trillion songs streamed so far. Last year had a total of 440 Billion over the entire 12 months which seems to me to prove that we are looking at the of the game when it comes to streaming. This means over a year streaming will have increased by 400%.

The big names are Chris Brown, Calvin Harris,  Nicki Minaj, Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, Maroon 5, and Lil Wayne -no Taylor Swift for obvious reasons but what is odd is no country pop cats are in the first line of defense here. It is all EDM pop all the time.

Two more things:

1 – As Neil Young (and Prince) recently proved, streamed music doesn’t belong to you -so there. If somebody wants it they can take it and if it is Prince and Neil they can keep it.

2 – If country is so big, where is it?
