Our Last Night, More Than Alright -by Helen Bach And Mary Magpie

Mary sez:

Our Last Night was the band right before Alesana, and I was basically just counting down till Alesana came on. I’d never heard of Our Last Night, but the excitement in the crowd was mind-blowing as they came on to the stage. The crowd moshed and screamed along, and it showed that CT clearly knew these guys and liked them. I didn’t really expect more than half the crowd to know the words to the songs, but it was many more.

They performed and had fantastic stage presence. They seemed to be having a lot of fun, and I believed them when they said they weren’t lying about the fact that this show was the best on the tour. Everyone was going crazy, but only because the band was so good.

I was more than impressed by this mob of hardcore boys. They were very talented and played with everything they had. I walked away a fan, spreading the news about this band.

Hel sez:
Our Last Night, totally took my by surprise.  Opening acts often get dismissed.  Grab  a drink hit the merch.. but these guys literally grabbed my attention from the first strike.
Mary is right the small but mighty crowd were loyals.  Announcing the song “Elephant” the crowd erupted and I felt left out.  C’mon I know this genre how did I not know of this?
The room became electric, the floor shook with unified jumping and the give and take from the audience and band was stunning.
I would be raving even more about the band if they hadn’t called me a pussy.  Well they didn’t go yo, you you’re a pussy but they did say “If you’re not dancing your a pussy”, so basically I’m a pussy.
I understand wanting crowd participation, they totally had it.  They owned that crowd.  I’m used to being called a motherfucker’ by bands.  “hows it going mother fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckerssssssssssssssss?!”, that’s almost become OK.
I see on their myspace that they say if you’re not at the Webster Theater that night, you’re a pussy too. So if you weren’t there, you’re a pussy and if you were there you should have bought me a drink.
But seriously, that tone statement made me turn from loving the band and wanting to really support them whole heartily, to this add on comment to the Magpies coverage.
Really though, who needs the opinion of  pussy anyway?
Best of luck in your careers guys.
