A posthumous happy birthday to Benjamin Orr bass and vocals for the 80s new wavers, The Cars.
Rick Ocasek may have been the ‘lead’ of The Cars, but Ben was the vocalist for the majority of their ‘hits’ including
“Bye, Bye Love”, “Just What I Needed”, “Moving in Stereo”, “Let’s Go”, and “Drive”.
Doe eyed and sexy, Mr Orr diagnosed as having pancreatic cancer continued playing festivals with his band Big People, and briefly reunited with The Cars for an interview used for a commemorative CD.
Ben Orr passed away on October 3, 2000 at age 53.
