Happy Birthday Mike Barson, cool two tone cat and ska master keyboard for Madness. I’m gonna tell you now I freakin LOVED Madness and I still do. Where the Specials got serious Madness were just a wreck. I can honestly tell you I cant listen to them and not end up in a great mood. So fun, so irreverent.
Say what you will about them growing old and arrogant I wont listen to a word, cuz I simply do not care.
Ska as a musical style even in this more ‘pop’ category is just add water good time. Fast full of brass and that chika chika chika that we ALL do when we hear it. How about that running man dance there was one dude who did that for the entire show. Like spin class on your feet. Id drop dead if I even tried.
And know what I love? On their myspace they cross off the tour dates as they go by. Not a wasteland of a site but an up to the minute one.. freakin cuties .
