Is that a derogatory comment cuz up until about 15 min ago I considered it such. One trick pony, one hit wonder.. all the same.
You had a great ___. Once.
So what spurns this pint sized humidity enhanced rant is VH1 Classics “One Hit Wonders”. I just got flipped on the screen note the station ID in the corner and go to rustle up some soy dogs.. and hear.
“Dear God”, By XTC.
I of course head back in to watch. How I love this song, this band the voice, the strings…….I hum along its even got a great gggggRRR in it.
But its a one hit wonder.

According to VH1.
Well, not to me.
XTC has so many Hel Hits that it would take too long and be to diluted to even say.
How about Melt The Guns, Rocket From a Bottle? Travels To Nihilon?
Are you kidding me? DEAR GOD?
I hate everything right now and here’s the reason. How dare anyone ANYONE even VH1 Classic (as opposed to what? VH1 Bohemian?) suggest a hit. Was it dollar sales? I certainly didn’t hear this on my local radio back in the day ever. Its like the dumb asses who go, oh Rock The Casbah? Yeah I loved the Clash.
Screw you you don’t even know what the Clash was if that’s how you identify them.
It saddens me that brilliance can be contained to 1 song, but I suppose crap can do the same.
How often do I hear something terrible and give the artist a second chance? Not many.
But how many people hear something great and are too lazy to hear more?
The point? None really other than I love XTC and I didn’t want them in what I still consider a negative light.
And I’m not hungry anymore either.
