One Concert You Should Try And Get To: The Mynabirds At The Bell House

Why these guys are not playing a showcase at Mercury Lounge or  Bowery Electric I don’t know but if you have to traipse out to the Bell House to watch the Mynabirds open for Chris Garneau at the Bell House Thursday June 3rd (doors at 8pm, $15 -prolly $20 after the usual pick pocketing).
The curse of the blogger is the lack of time -when you try and review everything you get your hands on it is hard to take a breath. But when I can I listen to Saddlecreek performing artists the Mynabirds. A blue eyed soul conglom garnering comparisons with (eeek) Dusty Springfield.
Their debut album,  What We Lost in the Fire We Gained in the Flood released last month is  just about perfect in everyway (including? a dynamic here and gone thirty minutes in length), a cross generation AOR pop  manifestation of all things soulful. I’ve written about it plenty here and if they were playing in the village (or during the weekend) I would be there…
But that shouldn’t stop a young hipster like you.
Go and represent!!
