Of Mice & Men's new song "Still YDG'N" has made me realize something. I've pretty much outgrown the whole "noise band" thing.
For as long as I can remember, screamo and hardcore has always enticed me. Nothing but screams and gasps and instruments. Now I can't listen to anything like that without wanting to throw myself out a window
I don't mind bands like Alesana or Bring Me The Horizon, who don't just stand and yell at you. Pretty much one minute into the song I had to pause it.
I wanted to like it, I wanted to fall in love with it. I just couldn't bring myself to. I think it's the fact that I don't really like pure screaming- it just sounds repetitive and boring. Plus it's really generic. I'm kind of disappointed because after hearing a little bit of OM&M's cover of "Blame It", and I fell in love now I just don't have any interest in them anymore. I liked the cover because of his singing voice- now he just screams?
I guess I've just lost interest in pure screamo…
