Alicia Keys, Usher, Gaga, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake are so confident that you cant live without their Tweets and Facebook statuses that they’re signing off.
On Wednesday Dec 1st, World Aids Day, these artists are going to pull the plug on all of their social media forums calling it a Digital Life Sacrifice on behalf of Keys’ charity,” Keep a Child Alive”.
For the campaign – which also includes Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Seacrest, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Elijah Wood, Serena Williams, Janelle Monae and Keys’ husband, Swizz Beatz – celebrities have filmed “last tweet and testament” videos and will appear in ads showing them lying in coffins to represent their digital deaths.
To quote Alicia:
“It’s so important to shock you to the point of waking up,” Keys said. “It’s not that people don’t care or it’s not that people don’t want to do something, it’s that they never thought of it quite like that.”
It will be interesting to see how long these fans can go without the latest words of wisdom from their idols.
Its a great cause, whatever it takes whatever new and strange method.
Get it funded and get it cured.
