Now Clarence Clemons has died, is E Street Band gonna follow him? Jason MacNeil of the QMI Agency offered the following appraisal "The Boss never truly missed a step following keyboardist's Danny Federici's death in 2008. However, Clarence Clemons' death on June 18 is something Bruce Springsteen knows is colossal. Best guess would be solo album, solo tour and distance from "The Big Man" loss before a run of New Jersey dates (2012 or 2013?) with guest saxophonists closing E Street. "
Dire words, right for the freeloading tax dodging Boss, right?
I am not sure I agree.
1. Bruce noted in his, E Street Band doesn't die with Clarence, Clarence dies when the E Street band dies. Seems to suggest in the strongest manner possible that they will carry on.
2. Too much money.
3. Springsteen is all about the pathos and, man, will he ring this one loud and clear. I can see Bruce playing that one well into his 70s.
So, my bet is the E Street Band are far from gone.
