Last night I got an email from Holy Ghost’s PR company telling me I had been dropped off the guestlist at Summerstage on Wednesday due to a cutback on tix allotment.
So I went to ticketmaster and it is sold out.
So I went ticket scalping and the cheapest tix I found was… $257.
Meanwhile the rest of the touring world can’t give a fucking tix away.
New York Times thoroughly useless article today: Hot Summer, Cold Economy, Weak Concert Sales, was so completely outdated, we scooped em and much more thoroughly around a month ago.
Still, the point remains. $10 for Maroon 5 and Lilith Fair, $257 for Hot Chip.
Incidentally, a friend of mine’s son works for boomberg’s cuktural affairs office so I will give her a call. But I kinda think I’m gonna be spending Wednesday night watching Jeopardy.
