Are Spider Bags the great rock and roll band on earth? I dunno, but I wouldn't wrestle you to the ground if you made the claim. Nobody in their right minds doesn't adore the hard rocking, country flecked, hosnest men of rock and roll band. Dan McGee is as personal as a mash note, as prepossed as a suicide threat and as hard as 60 year old scotch.
In other words, he fucking rocks.
And Spider Bags has a new album to be released on Paul Finn's Odessa Records, and, along with the Autumn released new Titus Andronicus, it is the rock and roll event of the year. Here is what the press release says: "It's called Shake My Head and is out August 7th. It's a truly awesome rock record, recorded in Memphis, TN and featuring a cast of characters pulled out of the Memphis garage rock scene."
Unfortunately, I can't for the life of me open the file so you will have to wait for my opinion but here is my assumpton: it is gonna blow out your mind!!
On another note, Odessa owner Paul Finn added this piece of information: "Audrey Elizabeth Finn was born on April 2, 2012. She has already been very helpful with listening to demos and the like. She also keeps me sane. "
