Three years after Teenage Dream spawned FIVE NUMBER ONE SINGLES and was inseparable from the Billboard charts for around two years straight, Katy Perry is back again with what should be the biggest pop album of the year PRISM. And while it is a little early to worry about the quality of the album, if I was to worry I might note that the second album has a cool cool name and the latter is a technical term for something that refracts light so…
Perry sent a truck around L.A. and retweeted anybody who tweeted a pix of the truck.
All fun and games but none of which answers the musical question: what will PRISM sound like? According to Billboard, in April Perry said she was recording with Max Martin, Dr. Luke and Greg Wells so two things appear really clear
1. It’s gonna sell.
2. It’s not gonna be that big a switch up from the last one.
And why should it be? Katy is the second pop star (MJ with Bad was the first) to get five # 1’s off a single album and she was pretty good when I saw her at MSG, November 2011.
A marriage, divorce, coupla new boyfriends including John Mayer and a big gold truck… my bet, based on nothing but the title?
