2. Yoshimi pt1 –  The Flaming Lips – – or the title song of an operatic album about the battle of a young girl against death.
3. Climbing to the Moon – The Eels  – A breath of fresh air in the middle of a very heavy album. There’s still hope after all.
4. The Obvious Child – Paul Simon – So triumphant with these exuberant Brazilian drums, ah memories!
5. Saint behind the glass – Los Lobos – The delicate harp from Vera Cruz, the whole album is a delight.

6. A Distorted reality is now a necessity to be free – Elliott Smith – The alternative version with different lyrics. You got to be free, you wanted to be free and there was no escape.
7. I Don’t Blame You, Cat Power(- So bizarre it came up after #6. The crucified artist in all its beauty and she is not talking about herself.
8. Get Your Guns, Nine Black Alps -Loud and rockin’, they are great live.
9. The Gates of Paradise – David Byrne – Starts like a symphonic melody for a few seconds and then brings bursting rhythms to your ears.
10. The Golden Age- Beck-  The nonchalance of a car trip during a hot desert day, and the despair of going nowhere
