1. Hello Good Morning – Sick Of Sarah – I think, but I’m not sure, that this band can’t sustain. Their newbie comes out in a coupla weeks so we will see. Meanwhile, if this is the one. it’s a goodie.
2. Paper Planes – This Century – Helen mentioned this song last week and she got it right. i don’t see the punk (it is part of Punk Goes Pop) but as a straight up no chaser rock cover it is a revelatory cover of a great song.
3. Getting Up And Leaving – Weezer – This is so good that, despite not being able to afford it, and knowing I won’t see a fucking thing, I am very tempted to catch the band on the Pinkerton night at Roseland.
4. It’s OK – Cee Lo Green – The beginning sounds like “I Can’t Stand Up For Falling Down”.
5. My Kind Of Hell – Elton John And Leon Russel – The keeper off the dog with fleas.
6. In The Night – Gary Wilson – Additively weird pseudo-soul.
7. I Hope – Elvis Costello – A keeper off the dog with fleas? no. The best of a bad lot.
8. Crazy Old Soldier – Johnny Cash And Ray Charles – My only regret is they didn’t record more together.
