1. 1977 – The Clash – The saddest thing about Keith's "Life" memoir was his dismissal of punk as people who can't play music, spitting at each other. A quick listen to this under two minutes blast of energy worth It's Only Rock And Roll, Goat's Head Soup and Black And Blue combined, earns Strummer the right to dismiss the Stones. Which he does.
2. Summer Song – The Homecoming Queens – Blasting through on a burst of horns and riding its skanking through to the end, and with a great lyric as well, all that is missing is a memorable melody.
3. Let Love grow – Dolly Parton – This will put you in awe the way the best songwriter's do: it is so effortless, it floats on air.
4. Totally Fucked – Jonathan Groff – Yeah, they should do this one on Glee.
5. Romance – Wild Flag
6 Doors Of Your Heart – The English Beat
7. Tonight Tonight – Hot Chelle Rae – Not as good as Rebecca Black, but pretty damn good.
8. Something For the DJ's – Pitbull
9. Change your Mind – The Feelies
10. New Feelings – The Rolling Stones – This is the sort of stuff the Stones should do more often: the delicate tears go by ruby Tuesdays gossamer sound.
