1. Someone Like You – Adele – A career defining song, this is so good it wipes away everything I’ve ever said about her in one fell swoop. A beautiful heartbreaker, a sad song about a sad thing. Song of the year? It is selling by the truckload in the UK.
2. The Rose Of England – Graham Parker – A theme song for me.
3. Cassette Tape – Katie Costello – There is something major about this song.
4. This Is The Place – Red hot Chili Peppers – For some weird reason, it reminds me of the day my dad died. I was in Geography class and the family sent our chauffeur to pick me up. “Let’s hope we find him alive,” Nader said. But he was being kind. Dad was already dead. I was sixteen and my youth ended that moment.
5. E.T. (feat Kanye West) – Katy Perry – I am getting sick of Kanye fast and I still haven’t forgiven Katy for her godawful Jingle Ball performance.
6. I Do – Colbie Caillat – So do I
7. Ivy League Circus – Gordon Voidwell – It is like soul put through a shredder.
8. Marry You – Bruno Mars – Better than “Grenade”
9. Headaches – For Science – One of the best songs ever written. Not because I’m friends with Joe Steinhardt who wrote it. I am friends with Joe because he did write it.
10. Please Don’t Break My Heart Today – Gary Wilson
