1. Sitting – Cat Stevens – Catch Bull At Four was the beginning of the end for Cat, but here he manages to sell you on naff lines like “I feel a power growing in my hair”.
2. Looking For Trouble – Kanye West – After “The Joy”, this is fairly minor stuff.
3. Silver Cities – The Monolators – Chromatic, but talented, indie pop. Pretty clever melody and excellent instrumental break instead of second chorus.
4. Hello Good morning – Sick Of Sarah – The joys of co-habitation.
5. Diamond Way – Jeff the Brotherhood – Grow up? It is all guitar lick and Joey Ramone vocal.
6. Beer And Kisses – Amy Rigby – Know what’s weird? When you loved a song and then forget about it and then hear it again and love it like the first time.
7. Happy – Best Coast – Me? I’m not miserable.
8. Spring Clean – Johanna And the Dusty Floor
9. U Don’t Like Me – Diplo And Lil Jon
10. Falling In Love At The Coffee Shop – Landon Pigg – The melody is a touch too cloying for me, and I like tunes that cloy at you, but the lyric is spot on.
