My Fave Tracks, Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

1. Jewel Of the South – Rodney Crowell – the former Mr. Rosanne Cash produced her best album and drove her insane. His solo career was never what it should've been and this, the third of three songs with daytrotter, does nothing to explain why. A lovely acoustic country-folk number where Grand Marnier pours in the sweet delta dome.

2. Heavy Metal Lover – Lady Gaga – While the Gaga backlash swirls unabetted, I've been there, done that and am back out the other side. I really love the album. This isn't my fave track, but this hard rockin' dance number works 100%.

3. England – PJ Harvey – Sure to make her few fans but it repays hard listening with bedazzling clarity.

4. Zebulum (Live) – Rufus Wainwright – This song is the sound of impending doom and as a great a musical equivalent as I have ever heard.

5. Who You Are (Live Acoustic) – Jessie J – Mixed up confusion solved by shouting your own name.

6. Golden – Tyler, The Creator – Mixed up confusion, unresolved.

7. Toxic – Mark Ronson – Ooooh baby, I'm burning up.

8. Give Me Everything – Pitbull – Still previcating

9. Halloween Pts 1 and 2 – Laura Stevenson And The Cans – Halloween because it haunts?

10. Love Is Just A Four Letter Word – Joan Baez
