My Fave Tracks, Sunday August 22nd, 2010 by Iman Lababedi

1. Come And Get It – Eli “Paperboy” Reed – Yes, Alyson is right and there is a whiite soul revival going down and this get sounds so Motown it is awesome. Plus he can really scream.

2. Magic Kingdown Kick My Teeth In – Light Pollution – Sounds like it should be on Bridgetown Records, all slap happy drams and ambient ambstraction. Sounds young and strange as bells rining in the background like a trip to Santaland gone very wrong.

3. December 1st – Backpack – Terriffic at the New brunswick gig, the debut EP What I Am gonna do With A Gun Rack doesn’t capture their live performance but it does let you hear the songs and this one rings real clear and strong.

4. Flawless Execututioner – Christopher Paul Stelling – Chris picks and strums that guitar and sings something about going home.

5. Critical Drain – SSLYBY
6. Golden Maze – Wild Nothings – Those guitars are so strangely fucked with: everything seems to be rining from heaven.

7. Good Eevening – The Concrets – Everything is so atmospheric nowadays, it’s like every track is haunted by it’s former track, everything echoes and echoes,,,The drums here are too insistent for the song to be considered ambient in any form, but it waivers between fore and back ground.

8. I Found Love (Edit) – Shit Robot
9.This Guys In Love With You – Herb Alpert – I sent Frankie Valli’s cover version to a friend for some obscure reason. SHoulda gone with this love version which reminds me of being maybe 13 years old, and my sister Feriel being wooed by the man she eventually married. The marriage didn’t last but the song lives on.

10. Shenandoah – Lucius
