My Fave Tracks Saturday July 24th by Iman Lababedi

1. Laura And Marty – Screaming Females – The first track off their second album and while it is maybe too early to be reviewing the album, this opening track will blow you away. SF’s trick is using riffs like hooks and there are two here and one is for the verse and the other for the instrumental break and they flip from one to the other. It drops September 14th, rock nyc fave Irene Diamond’s birthday by the way.
2. Submarine – The Drums – Oh now I get it. Morrissey likes em because they sound like Morrissey if he was the Morrissey of today but 30 years younger s opposed to the  Morrissey he was of the Smiths… if you see what I mean. Finally, I can hear em.
3. I Found Love – Shit Robot – I have listened to this over and over again and still can’t figure out what he is doing. The first guitar, that standoffish chord, seems to be the trick here.
4. Sound Of Siren – Major Lazer, MIA and Busy Signal
5. Post-Acid – Wavves – growing on me but not sure it’ll be enough.
6. Bang, Bang, Bang (feat Q-Tip and MNDR) – Mark Ronson and the Business
7. Ready To Start – Arcade Fire
8. Queen Of The Slipstream – Van Morrison
9. Champagne Life – Ne-Yo
10. One Life Stand – Hot Chip
