1. Endless Wire – The Who – This is what happens when you ignore a once great band who are past it. You miss it when they manage to write a killer track. Off their 2006 album of the same name, it came and went, till I heard Wreckless Eric cover it at Bowery Electric last Friday. Went back to the original, and it is another addition to a ridiculously great canon. A strange story about other types of gods, the gods of science, with a chorus made for singing: “Out on the endless endless…”
2. I Am Not A Robot – Marina And The Diamond – I’ve written about this song over and over again. “Better to be hated than to be loved for what you’re not” is wisdom of Taoist power.
3. Like Rasputin – Amy Rigby – Ten or fifty years from now when you’re on your deathbed and you wanna know what you’ve learnt, this is all you’ll have learnt: How to take a hit. This song personifies it.

7. Synapses – Papercranes – A dirge with lotsa fire and rain and a melody which kicks in after a coupla spins.
8. Silver Cities – The Monolators – Rhymes “shakes and shakes” with “oh god for goodness sake”.
9. Somebody To Love – Mark Ronson And The Business Intl – Boy George’s vocal is indelible and a pleasure but it would be a lot better if it was a lot better.
10. I Should Of – The Pretenders
