1. Breakaway – Ramona – A Karen and Johnny special. A spiked punch new wave with its eye on the fifties pop confection.
2. The Oh So Protective Ones – Girls – Overtly arranged power pop plus orchestra. Like the way they did in the early 60s. Emmm, Spectorish? Some horn instrumental break by the way.
3. Perfect day – Lady Antebellum – No not like Lou, like Taylor. Still, it makes its point.
4. Got Something For You – Best Coast, Wavves – Sure everybody hates it but I’m not everyone and I like, this slight but pleasant Christmas song.
5. Dirty Blue Gene – Captain Beefheart – If the vocals were less rasping. it would be mainstream 2010.
6. No Love – Eminem
7. This Is To Mother You – Sinead O’Connor – This gets covered quite a bit but lost somewhere on the Gospel Oak EP, it never quite registers.
8. Greek Song – Rufus Wainwright – Best musical reason to be gay. or at least bi.
9. Learned To Surf – Superchunk
10. All That Diggers – Sweet Soubrette – About loving things you can’t afford and its ramifications.
