Must See Concert: The Rezillos In November 2012

You say Revillos, I say Rezillos, all I know IS The Rez's were a blast from Scotland in the late 1970s and their one shining moment, Can't Stand The Rezillos heralded the end of punk as it straddled the line between new wave and punk with just wonderful wonderful fun filled greatness like "Top Of The Pops", "Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight", "Flying Saucer Attack" and one of my fave songs of all time "(My Baby Does) Good Sculpture" -as good a reason to be in love as anybody has ever come up with!

The Rez changed the paradigm from quasi political rock to a brightly colored rainbow of comic book and carton splashes all over the increasing drabness of post-punk punk (if you see what I mean. Though not musically, emotionally they are like X-Ray Specs without the acid flashbacks: a dayglo pop music of intense beauty and, gee, just plain fun. It sounds SO GOOOOOD!

But I have never seen them live -or the Human League, which is where Jo Callis ended UP. But Fay Fife will be at Bowery Electric November 10th!!! And that is the embodiment of a must see. If the vids I've seen are anything to go by, expect a thrill a minute pop punk fast loud and gorgeously melodic rave up.

And Murphy's Law are opening, a band known for their Rezillo cover so, yeah, this is a rock nyc must see. $25 a pop for a Saturday night. DO it now. Do it twice…
