I've only seen the Jacksons once, opening for Michael in 2001, but there is no gainsaying it. The Jacksons were a great r&b/disco band and so overshadowed by Michael, they are the forgotten greats.
in a league with Kool and the Gang, better than nearly everbody else except Chic, they were gians of Motown dance as both the Jackson 5 and in contracted form.
In what is becoming a big time summer, the Beach Boys is the reunion to catch…. and if you can't (or even if you can), the Jacksons is next on the list.
I don't know how they are gonna deal with Michael's legacy, A special segment, but who is gonna sing it? And only J5 hits?
Not that the Jackson don't have 15 hits of their own they can roll out. It isn't all "Heartbreak Hotel" you know.
Anyway, I invsted $169 for the Thursday, June 28th gig at the Apollo. Tix are on sale, or maybe sold out, right now.
