It is a long sad summer without Joe's Pub, though they have been curating a Salon series of concerts at Cooper Square Hotel.
And on August 22nd, Martha Wainwright, one of my favorite singer-songwriters, will be performing at 7p and 9p.
I've been a big fan for years and the two times I've seen her, she has been outstanding. First at the Highline and next where her music was being used for a dance recital at Summerstage in 2009 (ire viewed it here). That night her Mommy turned the pages for her which was kinda sweet and secod to last time i saw Kate McGarrigle on stage.
The last time I saw Martha on stage was with her son and Rufus and her brother's excellent carnegie hall recital.
So if you can afford the $20 plus $3 handling fee, hurry up and buy a tix. Both sets will definitely sell out. joespub.com
