Must See Concert: Friends At Bowery Ballroom, July 6th, 2012

Far be it for me to thank Rolling Stone for anything, but I have to give em props for introducing me to Brooklyn five piece indie dance rock band Friends. The first line of Will Hermes review of their debut album Manifest quotes their song "Sorry": "Ethically it's pretty fucked, I want you to come over to my house". Well, you have to have more willpower than I do not to want to stop your life and check em out.

The album is good, the song is awesome and Samantha Urbani is soooo hip (check the video below of her getting a lap dance) and cool that she is One Direction's resident bad boy Zayn Malik's girlfriend.  Which makes her the envy of half the girls in the US of A.

The band have a vibe that money can't buy, a vibe of a band that can go pop no problem and that when they do will start the process of transforming cool: like, er, Blondie did in the 1970s!!! Their videos are a blast, especially the one for "Mind Control". It is kinda interesting how fame transform somebodies appearance without changing anything about them. It is as if popularity makes them more exciting, more beautiful. Samantha looks hotter with every passing day.

Friends are the band of the summer and their concert at Bowery Ballroom on a Saturday July 4th week, is the gig of the season. I wish the album sustained the sexy come on of "Sorry" but give it time and it might revea itself more. Till then, here is heat seeking missile Samantha getting a lapdance… hang around till they start kissing…
