Motion City Soundtrack released a new tune called "Timelines". I absolutely love it. The lyrics are absolutely incredible.
It tells a fabulous story, with countless hooks along the way. The chorus is refreshing and the melody is uplifting. I adore Justin Pierre's voice, and this tune really makes it evident just how wonderful it is. The drumming is phenomenal, as is with all MCS songs. The cool bassline and quick guitars keep things interesting and make the song unique. It's great to see MCS grow up, and this song shows that they're back and better than ever before.
I most certainly wasn't expecting such a deep and thoughtful song as a single; it threw me off in a great way. A gorgeous song, I can't get enough of it. It's probably my favourite MCS song to date. It keeps their sound, but is expanded in a way that absolutely captivates me. I don't remember the last time I was this enraptured by a song's lyrics since Say Anything's Anarchy, My Dear release.
