Michael Cera Is Heavenly -by ALyson Camus

Michael Cera is taking his latest Scott Pilgrim role very seriously, I mean very seriously: According to several blogs (and the Stranger.com has the pictures to prove it) the actor has joined the new band Mister Heavenly on bass, and they have already played their first show at the Moore theater in Seattle, on November 30th where they opened for Passion Pit. So he really played bass in the movie?

Mister Heavenly, the love child of Nick Diamonds (Islands/Unicorns), Honus Honus (Man Man) and Joe Plummer (Modest Mouse), was already qualified of super indie band, but the addition of the eternal awkward man-child will sure reinforce the hype!

The Seattle weekly reports that the funny guy lost the strap of his bass, then ‘finished the song, asked the jubilant hipsters if they liked the Barenaked Ladies and proceeded to start ‘One Week’ before Mister Heavenly quickly launched into another original tune’.

According to Pitchfork, Cera may not be is a full-time member of the band or not, but he will play with them for the rest of their West Coast tour. Here are the dates:

    * 30-Nov Seattle,WA Moore Theater *
    * 1-Dec Portland,OR Crystal Ballroom *
    * 2-Dec San Francisco,CA Cafe du Nord
    * 3-Dec Santa Cruz,CA Civic Auditorium *

Their music has been qualified of doom-wop, I don’t know what it is, and I am not sure his short video found on Youtube can be helpful:
