1. Spin The Bottle – Juliana Hatfield Three – This song about a chance encounter with a B Movie actor, culminating in a game of Spin the Bottle and the legend "I'll go down I don't care". On the verge of stardom, she cracked.

2. All Night Doctors – Bush – Gavin should've called it "All Night Girls". The middle 8/chorus is gorgeous, "Were you ever my love?" is a question with resonance to spare.

3.Writing – Elton John – Helen swears by the album, I think it was too clever for its own good but I have no problem with this modified reggae beat.

4. Saturday – Ed Sheeran – A bit too feet in the sand for me, but there is better on the way. His new album sold 100,000 copies its first week in the UK.

5. Polish Girl – Neon Indian – Like Holy Ghost meets Princeton.

6. I Wanna Meet Dave Grohl – Wavves – And later on he says "be dave Grohl". So now we know.

7. Greenback Dollar – Hank Williams – Really early country blues with a killer harp intro.

8. Both Of Us – Stephen Stills

9. White Fangs Learns to Hate – Elk – The exact intwersection of hardcore and thrash.

10. Magic – Girls
