MFT 8-9-11

1. Smells Like Nirvana – Weird Al Yankovic – I got a tix to see him at beacon in October. This is a reminder of not just how funny Al is but also how important Nirvana: "We're so loud and incoherent, boy this oughta bug your parents…" indeed.

2. Sea Of Madness – CSNY – At Woodstock, noodling like Grateful Dead.

3. Call Your Girlfriend  Feed Me Remix – Robyn – This is a wild take on the best song off Vol 3.

4. O Mio Babbino Caro –  Maria Callas

5. Harvest – Listen to the way the violin echoes his vocal at the end of the track.

6. Rico – Mellowhype – If this album is the worst of it, why is it this good? Still, as good as Hodgy Beats and Left Bank are, Tyler the Creator is on another planet of greatness.

7. Askim Benim – Nazan Soray – Without Faris D, this is just wildly catchy Turkish pop. It sounds like a mix of Arabic pop and gypsy.

8. I'll Never Dream – Kaskade – Modern smooth jazz plus electronica.

9. No Church In the Wild (Feat Frank Ocean) – Kanye West And Jay-Z – The summer of Ocean continues apace.  the best song on an album that is better than I expected.

10. I Feel  Good – Beres Hammond – Astoundingly beautiful lover's rock
