1. Girls Like You – The Naked And The Famous – An infectious rethinking of glam rock for the post-electronic age but a couple out of Auckland, New Zealand, many miles from home, and dealing with a harsh reality. Beauty is skin deep. Grade: B+
2. Joe Hill – Joan Baez – A song about organization and the birth of the Unions, played at Woodstock, and thereby tying the blue collar to the mud covered children whose parents they work for. Grade: A
3. Shit, Man, Motherfucker – D'Angelo – Our premiere living soul man, brought the funk a long time ago. Grade:A
4. Tiger Rag – Louis Armstrong – From a 1965 live performance, it was really old even there but Armstrong is in pure swing mode.
5. Floetic – Floetry – I completely missed these guys at the time but now it feels like an inspired take on Badu's jazz/soul mix. Grade:A-
6. Ex-Factor – Lauryn Hill – Sure, she sucks live. But this is the kinda song that lasts a life time. Grade: A+
7. In Between Jobs – Todd Snider – Hand Todd this, he sounds much more pissed off than Bruce does.
8. O God – Jessie Owens Young Grade: B+
9. Who – St. Vincent Early stuff. grade: B+
10. My City of Ruins – Bruce Springsteen – Perfect protest.
