1. Sweet Home Chicago – Robert Johnson – The magic of the blues, certainly the magic of the blues the way Johnson played it, was its intimate timelessness. Johnson met the devil on the crossroad and then he went back to Chicago, and ever since then we've made that trip with him.
2. Please Please Please – Fiona Apple – One of Fiona's finest song finds the Siren absolutely sick of a relationship. Best line?: "no apologies, at best they buy you time till you next step out of line".
3. Some Nights – Fun. – What's with the harmonies in the intro? Who are these guys?
4. Down In The Willow Garden – Bon Iver – Sure, SNL got it right when they portrayed him falling asleep mid-song. Still, I'm beginning to like the bloke. He takes the lead here.
5. Muthafucka Up – Tyga – This guy, a Big Sean and therefore a Rocka Fella, might have more going on then is first visible. The sample here is so strange it sticks itself in your ear, like on old style hip hop irritant.
6. Paradisco – Charlotte Gainsbourg
7. Crash – Sleight Bells – Hooky, twisted fucker.
8. Please Let Me Wonder – The Beach Boys – I am still not sure if the move from the verse to the bridge/chorus actually works or lessens the songs impact. And if it lessens it, by how much?
9. In Love With A feeling – Babyshambles – I like Pete Dougherty a lot, he is a great English original and true shipwreck of a man. These songs feeling is falling off the rails.
10. The Cat And Mouse – Cursive – Nice drums -like the padding on a cats paw.
