1. Primitive Painters – Felt – In the latest of a long list of bands I missed, meet Felt. Real Estate covered em Saturday night and I think they were awesome though long gone. Produced by a Cocteau with an English Lou Reed for a lead vocalist this is an epic indie UK style from around 1990 and is simply a great lost track you need to find.
2. Twist And Shout – The Beatles – I was reading in Tim Riley's that Lennon's voice was so ravaged from a cold when he sang this, he was leaving trails of blood in the milk he was drinking.
3. Pulling Muscles (From The Shell)/Labeled With Love – Squeeze – BBC session, just acoustic guitar, Difford singing back up, pretty fucking awesome.
4. Rabiosa – Shakira – Sexy as fuck and Pitbull keeps up with Shakira… bite her in the occa?
5. Laura – Girls – Hardly suprisingly: a highlight Saturday night. He creamed the ending.
6. All The Same – Real Estate – Last song and highlight of their set.
7. Lead Existence – King Krule – 17 year old kid finds the world quite strange.
8. Blue Jeans – Lana Del Rey – She wrecked havoc on this on SNL.
9. So Sad – Francoise Hardy and Etienne Daho – Superb cover of Everly Brothers classic. The touch of accent is just glorious.
