The most surprising news was, as Helen reported yesterday, that Coachella has already sold out! At more than $300 the ticket, this is another proof that hipsters have money!
But if you could not afford it, there is another alternative just after the Coachella mayhem, another festival which will bring even more chaos: a Metal Coachella.
The big four Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax will play at the Empire polo club in Indio, Coachella location, just a week after, on April 23rd.
It’s true that Coachella is rather light on the heavy metal, is there even one metal band in the line-up? I’m not sure… but the LATimes is reporting that the organizers of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival are behind this surprise booking.
I guess they don’t need to clean up the place after Coachella, because it’s going to be trashed again, so what’s the point? But the crowd may be really really different, probably much older and much heavier, and much louder. And I bet calmer, as you don’t see many mid-40-year-old white guy doing crowd surfing, don’t you?
