Locksley: 60s Hipsterish by Helen Bach

We all know 1 person who can suggest a song and 99.9999999% of the time nail it like Jesus.

I swear to God I know that guy.

So here I am sobbing like a girl, wait I am a girl, writing about Cash and Strummer.. when, clink…the magic Blackberry inbox sound

‘Hi. Check out the band Locksley’

hmmmm sounds Irish or is that Lochness.. no wait that’s Scottish…

“tHE wHIP IS THE lOCKSLEY SONG….that i like’.

tee heee caplock fail

but again.. when you know someone who can tell straight up if you’ll like something you gotta give it a go.

This is the same guy who introduced me to the Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks, The Decemberists,.. amazing ear amazing everything AND A SOX FAN- ok the reason I’m a Sox fan

So here it is..lets give it a spin

“The Whip” is good and I can totally see why this would be sent my way. Happy peppy.. why its ME.

I’m kidding but I love the sound. Its almost 60s hipster.

But I’m gonna counter ‘The Whip’ with “Don’t Make Me Wait”

This song is old school Kinks with a side of fries and a malt. Right down to the drum roll.

G’head sit still.. you CANT this song is perfect.

“She Does”… Now I’m wondering if someone checked out the entire myspace? hmm hmm? I think they stole a Beatle here.

So . my retro friends.. we have yet another winner.

This band is so throw back is brand new and now I gotta go buy the whole damn release “Be In Love” cuz I DO love it and the Cowboy. Thank you for another winner.

March 2 at the Mercury Lounge NYC..
