LMFAO Break Up!

Back in June I wrote these ominous words at the tail end of my LMFAO review: "(LMFAO)is in the process of breaking up. The third empty Prudential Center is one ominous sign, but rumors of fighting about money is a bigger one. It won't be long. So, really, catch them while you can".

Over the weekend my ominous warning came true. Redfoo told contactmusic.com: "'I think that we naturally just started hanging with two different sets of people, two different crowds, but we're always family. He'll always be my nephew, I'll always be his uncle.

''I feel like we've been doing this for so long, five or six years. And we're kind of like saying, well, let's just do what's natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time.''

I loved the genre busting, fun loving LMFAO, Motown Records creator Berry Gordy's son Sky Blu and brother Redfoo's brightly colored, heavy beats novelty song shot right through with adolescent hedonism crossed all barriers. Never before or since has a lifestyle of sex, nightclubs and excessive everything else but more easy going and fun. Where the Rolling Stones spent a career attempting to justify their existence, LMFAO embraced it and preteens and their Grandparents both embraced it with them. Forget the beats, which were industrial strngth, forget the songs, which were blueprint dance tracks, and just at their zany visage and fun loving attitude: folks liked them.

Theyw ere a really good band who just didn't take themselves too seriously.
