There was an infinite vitality of velvet green flowing deliciously through the air as Composer Randy Edelman presented his 2nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Massacre at the trendy new nightspot Chelsea Table & Stage in the heart of NYC on March 16, 2024….. a vivacious close to the spirited Irish Parade. His music is the tapestry of enchanted emeralds, silver-green, jade, kiwi, lime, eucalyptus, celadon, tourmaline, apple….It was a green made possible by the eternal herald of the flavor and sensitivity of the Maestro’s piano and lyrics during his triumphant return….Being amazing is what life is about….and his sold out audience thought Randy was amazing…on all sides of the footlights.
There were people everywhere…hanging from the rafters, clapping in the aisles…a madhouse, an asylum, ……A chaotic frenzy gripped the venue spilling out into the VIP area. Chelsea reached the height of mass obstruction bursting with a multitude of bodies laced with anticipation of Randy’s performance. The scene was a hybridization of a society of fans both old and new ones, gathered specifically to listen to some of the most beautiful music ever created….and the crowd begged for one more song multiple times…
His songs are filled with romance and compassion. They address devotion, empathy, beauty, depth, relationships, and ideals as they build an authentic world of the composer’s emotions…His set list is filled with songs covered by the most iconic artists on the planet including “A Weekend in New England” as recorded by Barry Manilow, “Isn’t it a Shame” as recorded by Patti LaBelle and Nelly, “You” as recorded by The Carpenters. He has hits by Olivia Newton-John, Dionne Warwick, and even Bing Crosby. Valued for creating over a hundred motion pictures and television scores, My Cousin Vinny, Last of the Mohicans, Ghostbusters ll, Kindergarten Cop, XXX, Dragonheart, The Bruce Lee Story, Billy Madison, MacGyver, Gettysburg and so many others that he performed medleys with backstage stories for each.
Randy played all of his songs that always speak to the heart transporting his audience into a time continuum, a portal to a parallel universe. Albeit he didn’t have an actual wand, his magical powers were flavored by the keys on the piano. As the night ventured on the tunes became more intoxicating like drifting through a gentle breeze and allowing the wind to take you to a place untouched……
