I've had a soft spot for Lita Ford ever since she shared her turkey sandwich with me back in the early 1980s. People don't forget moments like that. And I stood on my head trying to express how nice the former Runaway was and how much I disliked her heavy metal.
30 years later and I am a bit less us and them-y and listening to the Lita album, I don't hate it all. It is innocuous, even pleasant hair metal and more power to her.
Lita is the opening act for Poison and Def Leppard at Jones Beach on Friday, July 13th and tix go on sale this Friday at noon and if you like this kinda thing and if you live in Long Island, of course, this will probably be worth the price of admission.
I know I must be mellowing in my old age because I'm listening to Poison's "Talk Dirty to Me" and it is kinda catchy. Not everything can be important, we need our cheap kicks as well.
