Listen Up: 7-19-12

1. You Make Me Feel So Young – Steven Maglio – An astonishing interpreter of Sinatra but really, with that voice, I don't see what this guy can't sing. This is a gorgeous take on Ol' Blue Eyes – Grade: A

2. Bad Boys – Inner Circle – Listening to the full version after all these years of the "Cops" chorus only, reminds you that, well, that it is more than a truncated flash warning – Grade: A

3. Bad Company – Five Finger Death Punch – Hard to remember that lead singer Ivan Moody is making his bread and butter as a hard rock not a grunge singer. Certainly, he has the best voice in the genre – Grade: B

4. Here I AM (Come And Take Me) – Al Green – Gonna see him on Wednesday… first time in YEARS! – Grade: A+

5.Ain't That I Kick In The Head – Dean Martin – Funny song, kinda negative right: "Ain't that a whole in the boat"? Grade: A+

6. Killer Diver – Killswitch Diver – Oh yes, heavy metal. PS Another pretty good singer – Grade: B

7. Shape I Was In – Spider Bags – If I call this "shape i'm in" one more time – Grade: A+

8. My Master's Will  The Mighty Diamonds – Gregory Isaacs had a word for this: lover's riock – Grade: B+

9. Yatton – Beak – Best song off the newbie is like being seduced by repetitive notes – Grade: A-

10. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together Again – Taylor Swift – A smash hit, why? Because of the way she says "exhausting" – Grade: A
