After 2 years of calling this daily song review column "My Fave Tracks or MFT, I've decided to rename it because

a) It's a misnomer, it isn't favorite tracks, it's just what I'm listening to today, whether new releases, somebody mentioning a song to me, or because of a concert.

b) MFT is gibberish. Who calls a column miff it?

The title is from an old Oasis song.

1. Old And Gray – Maps And Atlases – I haven't really heard these art damaged English hipsters before, but they have a new album, this is the lead, and it is a big song. The sort of weirdly of-melody vocal you expect from Dorty Projectors, but even catchier. Grade: A

2. Listen Up – Oasis – In case you were wondering if Oasis were overestimated, they weren't. The song is a masterpiece off The Masterplan thoughI think I also owned it on an obscurer EP- Grade: A+

3. Poptones – Public Omage, Ltd – This is what Johnny played on American Bandstand – Grade: A+

4. Payphone – Maroon 5 – It is rare to find a song completely slaughtered by the rap. – Grade: B+

5. 212 – Azealia Banks – The buzz on this rapper is very loud and for a good reason, she is ALL flow – Grade: B+

6. Heroes And Villains – The Beach Boys – Considering how great it is, it got buried in the "Good Vibrations" avalance. Grade: A+

7. Top 1% – Huratron – Blips its way to better sampling – Grade: B+

8. A Woman Left Early – Janis Joplin – The extended Pear is the reissue of the year – Grade: A

9. My Body – Young The Giant – Are a pretty good indie band, 2010's album was harmless enough. Quite why they are playing the Sy Fy upfront I have no clue.
