1. Merry-Go-Round – Kacey Musgraves – Break through song for Texan country singer, punning on "merry" right through the chorus on a slab of suburban dystopia – Grade: A-2. Don't Rush – Kelly Clarkson – Her best song in a coupla of years is a straightforward country pop with Vince Gil adding back up vocals. A triumph of form – Grade: A
3. False Jesi Part 2 – Pissed Jeans – Well on their way to being the best rock band since Titus Andronicus, this is as funny as it is fierce – Grade: A+
4. Zero – Keyshia Cole – With new rapper of the year Meek Mill, this is as good as chick soul singers get it 2012. A little obvious but not bad – Grade: B
5. Jejune Stars – Best song on last Bright Eyes album – Grade: A
6. Bell Boy Demo – Pete Townsend – I remember Billy Idol as the Face at MSG back in the 1990s, neither he nor the composer can beat out Keith Moon – Grade: B
7. Hey Hey My My – Neil Young – Punk didn't just give the Stones a kick in the butt, it saved the 1980s for Young – Grade: A
8. Chained – The XX – A little goes a long way but it's worth the trip – Grade: B
9. If I Had A Hammer – Pete Seeger – All together…. "I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters all over this land" – Grade: A+
10. The Big Picture – Bright Eyes – Conor's first solo song and not bad at all – Grade: A-
