Listed Hearts

“Bah Bah Bah Bah:…” another completely killer track off my big album of the moment Romance Is Boring. To my mind (if not to my sound) Los Campesinos are closer to Titus Andronicus -who I saw open for them, then to Girls -who I’ve also seen open for them in this way: both Los Camp and Titus are sophomoric bands: for all Garth’s eclectic and clever lyrics he never got over the girl who dumped him in college and thinks it is proof there is no god whereas Patrick never got used to reading Sarte in college and thinks it’s proof ther is no god.
But when you are doing songs as good as “There Are Listed Buildings” (“woe betide your listed heart, I think I’d do it for love if  it were not for the money” ) where every other line is an aphorism under a crazed rock instrument with Garth declaiming and the rest of the banding wooing and bahbahing in the back, give up on the questions and let the pleasure principle ride you out.
